New Cabinets Come with Convenient Features


"Most of the time when you want to remodel a kitchen, there is some modification to the layout of the cabinets," said Lyle Karstens, designer for Showcase Kitchen and Design Center, Inc. "It is usually easier and more cost-effective to install new cabinets rather than having to custom-build units to fit into the new layout."

The process of installing new cabinets also brings perks such as easy glide shelves. "Today's new cabinets do a lot more with wide, deep drawer sets and pullouts, especially in the pantry area," said Karstens, who is also seeing many requests for beautiful glaze finishes on new cabinetry.

Glass front-cabinets and display areas are also experiencing a resurgence, he said. Installing all new cabinetry takes about three months from start (planning stages) to the installation, which takes approximately three weeks.
